The Ottershaw Society AGM,
22nd September 2009
This year’s AGM was held in the Village Hall and was, as usual,
well attended. The first business of the evening was to ratify
the election of the committee and its officers, which was duly
done, so now there is not only a new chairman for the Society,
but two new vice chairs as well. Jim Gallimore,
our new chairman, conducted proceedings during the evening, during
which time he was pleased to get the members’ approval to make
Reg Taylor the Honorary President of
the Society.
After the usual AGM business, our two local police officers,
PC Anita Clark and PCSO Nicki Brumell
introduced themselves and explained their respective roles and
responsibilities within the community. They stayed for the refreshments
at the end of the evening, to meet individual members and to respond
to their queries. This was much appreciated by the audience
and they were certainly kept busy!
Thanks go to both Sue Mannveille and
Gail Spencer on the committee, and their helpers, who organised
the “social” end of the evening.
